An established, FCA-regulated insurance business is seeking a Head of IBA Reconciliation to lead insurer accounting, client money, and banking operations from its head office in Bradford.
This is a senior finance operations role, reporting into the Financial Director, with responsibility for ensuring insurer payments, reconciliations, and banking processes are accurate, timely, and fully compliant.

The roleYou will take day-to-day leadership of the insurer and IBA banking reconciliation teams, planning workloads and setting standards to ensure effective and controlled processing of client and insurer funds.
A key part of the role is driving process improvement, including the development of automation and system-led solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across reconciliation and payment processes.
You will work closely with credit control and wider finance colleagues to strengthen cash allocation, reduce aged debt, and improve end-to-end reconciliation performance.
Key responsibilities*Lead the insurer and IBA banking reconciliation teams
*Ensure insurer accounts are regularly reconciled and payments made in line with agreed terms
*Oversee daily bank postings, cash allocation, and perpetual bank reconciliations
*Allocate client receipts accurately against invoices within finance systems (e.g. Acturis)
*Drive automation and continuous improvement across reconciliation and payment processes
*Build effective working relationships with insurers to support communication and issue resolution
*Work with credit control to improve debtor management and cash efficiency
*Ensure compliance with FCA requirements, AML, financial crime, sanctions, GDPR, and information security policies
About you*Proven experience in IBA, insurer accounting, or broker accounting within an insurance or regulated financial services environment
*Experience leading reconciliation, banking, or finance operations teams
*Strong understanding of client money rules, insurer settlement, and FCA controls
*Confident working in high-volume cash and reconciliation environments
*Experience improving processes, controls, and operational efficiency
*Comfortable operating at senior level with ownership and accountability
