Role Overview:
We are working with a highly regarded professional services organisation that is seeking a Pensions Administration Associate Consultant to join their established pensions administration team in Winchester.
This role is ideal for an experienced defined benefit (DB) pensions administrator who is looking to take the next step in their career within a consultancy environment. You will play a key role in the day-to-day administration of occupational pension schemes, ensuring high-quality service delivery, strong governance, and excellent client support, while also supporting and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
*Manage the smooth day-to-day administration of a portfolio of defined benefit pension schemes.
*Check and review work completed by junior team members, including calculations, methods, and overall approach.
*Ensure internal procedures and quality standards are followed when reviewing work.
*Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of current pensions legislation and industry developments, flagging potential issues to senior colleagues.
*Take ownership of compliance tasks, ensuring they are completed accurately and on time.
*Build detailed knowledge of client scheme rules, practices, and nuances.
*Act as a key point of contact for clients, taking responsibility for service delivery and client satisfaction.
*Support the development of junior staff through coaching, delegation, and mentoring.
*Keep team leaders informed about workload, capacity, and upcoming peaks in activity.
*Build strong knowledge of the administration system and contribute ideas to improve processes and efficiencies.
Skills, Experience & Qualities Required:
*Demonstrable experience in DB pensions administration within a consultancy or third-party administration environment.
*Educated to A-level, degree level, or equivalent.
*Making good progress towards a professional pensions qualification (e.g. APMI).
*Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
*Excellent communication and organisational skills.
*Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
