Job Description:
Reed Accountancy are delighted to be supporting our returning client seeking an Assistant/Management Accountant to join their team permanently.
Working for a diverse organisation made up of 10 trading companies, this role will provide financial support to the management teams of two of those businesses and offers an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing day-to-day financial operations, producing insightful reporting, and contributing to the wider financial strategy of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including budgets, forecasts, and monthly reports
*Produce monthly management accounts and supporting analysis
*Cash flow forecasting
*Sales reporting
*Supplier reconciliations
*Preparation of cash payments
*Debtor management and chasing outstanding payments
*Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register, including depreciation calculations and journal postings
*Full control of the Accounts Payable ledger
*Accountability for accruals and prepayments
*Support the year-end process and liaise with external auditors
*Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting standards
This role is a fantastic chance for an Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant seeking the chance to join a business and develop your accounting knowledge further. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of transactional finance and have had some exposure to management accounts. You’ll be highly organised, proactive, and detail-focused, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels. Proficiency in Excel is essential, and while experience with Xero is advantageous, it isn’t required. You’ll enjoy working as part of a small, supportive team and feel confident taking ownership of your responsibilities.
The business offer hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days in their Wokingham office and 3 days from home. Due to the location of the office you would need be a driver as it is not easy to locate via public transport.
