This is a temporary, full-time role based in London with hybrid working. Contract length is expected to be three months initially, with potential to extend up to six months and the hourly rate is £19.03, working Monday to Friday. This position supports two academic departments within a busy and collaborative research environment with the focus primarily on post-award activity, with involvement across the full research grant lifecycle.
The role provides meaningful, hands-on operational responsibility from day one. Close working relationships are built with researchers, academics, and professional services teams. The work contributes directly to the smooth delivery of funded research and supports positive outcomes for research staff. Research Operations Officer – Key Responsibilities:*Provide post-award research support, including contract extensions and staff recruitment
*Manage recruitment activity for research-funded roles alongside HR colleagues
*Process contract changes, resignations, and end-of-contract activity accurately
*Support procurement, invoices, recharges, and research-related financial transactions
*Assist with reporting to Principal Investigators and monitor submissions
*Provide administrative support for meetings, committees, and departmental activity
