Department: Transport, Logistics & Warehouse
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary:£28,000 – £29,000 per annum
Working Hours:8.5 hours per day (within depot opening hours of 06:00 – 18:00)
Travel: Occasional
Reporting To: Logistics Manager
A reputable organisation is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to support the efficient daily operations of its Luton depot. This role requires strong people management capability, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of warehouse and transport processes.
The ideal candidate will maintain high operational standards, ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, and lead with empathy, respect, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations
*Cover morning office duties from 06:00 – 08:00.
*Plan and coordinate daily warehouse activities.
*Spend approximately 80% of time on the warehouse floor, managing staff, deliveries, and order processing.
*Monitor errors, non-conformances, and operational issues and report as required.
*Respond to customer enquiries and complete required reporting.
*Provide general administrative and system support.
Performance & Standards
*Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality, and productivity.
*Support efforts to keep overtime levels low.
*Monitor, track, and report Depot KPIs.
*Ensure the depot is maintained to a high standard and raise maintenance needs promptly.
Health & Safety
*Work closely with the Logistics Manager to ensure the safety of all staff, contractors, and visitors.
*Conduct all required depot and warehouse checks in line with procedures.
*Promote a safety-first culture and ensure full compliance with regulations.
Supervision & Flexibility
*Act as a key holder and attend emergency callouts when required.
*Provide cover for the Logistics Supervisor during absence.
*Be fully trained across all departments and step into operational roles when necessary (e.g., loading vans, covering driver routes).
*Perform supervisory administrative tasks including petty cash reconciliation, fuel invoice checks, PO log updates, and ordering uniforms/consumables.
Skills & Qualifications
*Minimum 2 years’ experience in warehouse and transport operations.
*Ideally experienced within pharmaceutical or healthcare logistics.
*Proven people management experience with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
*Strong Health & Safety awareness and commitment to maintaining safe working practices.
*Able to lead with compassion, empathy, and respect at all times.
*Computer literate with experience using WMS, trafficking systems, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
*Forklift licence (counterbalance or reach) preferred.
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
