HR & Finance Assistant Lancaster
£28,000 per annum + benefits
Butler Rose is delighted to be working exclusively with a well-established and growing business based in Lancaster to recruit a HR & Finance Assistant. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to an organised and proactive individual who enjoys working across finance, HR and general administration in a busy office environment.
The Role Reporting into the Finance Manager (and working closely with HR Manager), the HR & Finance Assistant will play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of administrative, finance, and compliance activities across the business.
Key Responsibilities *Supporting the HR function with day-to-day administration, maintaining employee records in line with GDPR and legislative requirements


*Coordinating employee training and certifications, including booking renewals to ensure compliance


*Providing administrative support to the Health & Safety lead, including organising meetings, preparing agendas and taking minutes
* Acting as a first point of contact for finance-related queries from customers and suppliers via phone and email

* Processing purchase and sales invoices, investigating and supporting resolution of any discrepancies

* Setting up new customers and suppliers on the finance system, ensuring accurate payment details, credit limits and terms

* Assisting with monthly credit card reconciliations

* Supporting internal and external projects, liaising with stakeholders where required

* Assisting with order processing through the company’s online sales platform

* Arranging meetings (internal and external) and producing minutes where necessary

* Providing general administrative support to the finance and HR teams

* Undertaking ad-hoc duties appropriate to the role as required

Person Specification Essential:
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with colleagues, customers and suppliers

* Previous experience in an office-based role

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets and document management

* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism

* Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines

* Capable of working independently as well as part of a collaborative team

* Proactive, flexible and committed to delivering high-quality work

* Willingness to undertake further training and development

* A minimum of 3 A-Levels at Grade C or above (or equivalent qualification/experience)

Desirable:
* Experience using accounting software (e.g. Sage, SAP or similar)

* Previous experience taking minutes
