Aatom Recruitment is hiring on behalf of Local Authority for the role of RQ1680790- Tenant and Landlord Engagement Officer
Job Title: RQ1680790- Tenant and Landlord Engagement Officer
Contract Duration: 3 Months
Hours per week: 35
Experience:
A degree or level 6 qualification in a relevant field or extensive practical experience landlord and tenant engagement activities
Experience of providing legal advice to landlords and tenants on their rights and obligations Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Protection from Eviction Act 1977, Housing Act 1988, Housing Act 2004 and the Renters’ Rights Act 2025.
Experience of planning and delivering stakeholder events and briefing sessions on private rented housing issues
Ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to a wide range of audiences, both in writing and verbally
Experience leading or contributing to projects, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Good team working skills, including the ability to work flexibly to achieve service outcomes and manage conflicting demands
Experience of maintaining accurate records, including casework, meeting notes and project documentation
Competent in using including MS Office and specialised software for managing information and supporting service delivery
Ability to use initiative to solve problems and contribute proactively to developing operating procedures that benefit private rented housing stakeholders
Additional skills, qualifications or experience that would enhance your ability to perform the role, such as experience in community engagement, communications or advocacy
Key responsibilities
1. Lead the delivery of the landlord and tenant advisory service, ensuring that private renters and landlords receive clear, accessible and timely information regarding rights, responsibilities and relevant legal requirements
2. Organising meetings and deliver drop in sessions and briefings for internal and external stakeholders on private sector housing issues . Be responsible for managing the Landlords Forum.
3. Design and implement new ways to engage with landlords, tenants internal and external stakeholders to improve knowledge and awareness of private sector tenant and landlord rights and responsibilities.
4. Develop and deliver campaigns to raise awareness of property licensing, renters’ rights and landlord’s management obligations and enforcement.
5. Manage digital content of the private rented housing web pages for landlords and tenants to ensure information is accurate and accessible
6. Proactively develop and updating policies and procedures that impact private sector tenants and landlords
7. Lead on consultation and research to identify and evaluate feedback from stakeholders on private sector housing issues and develop appropriate strategies to support private landlords and tenants.
8. Lead on landlord engagement activities to support property licensing, including statutory consultation, acting on feedback and regular performance reporting.
9. Maintain accurate records of all tenants and landlord engagement activities, including casework, advice and referrals and produce regular service impact reports.
10. Any additional duties consistent with the grade and level of responsibility of this position, for which the holder possesses the required experience and/or training.
