Job Description:
A property consultancy is seeking a Building Surveyor to join its Cambridge team. This Building Surveyor role sits within an established Building Surveying team, offering exposure across multiple sectors. The Building Surveyor will work alongside project management and engineering teams, delivering professional Building Surveying services. This position suits a Chartered Surveyor looking to develop within a collaborative environment.
The Company? The successful Building Surveyor will be joining a well-established consultancy with regional offices across the UK. The Cambridge office works closely with project management and building services engineering teams, delivering tailored services to a range of local clients. This Building Surveyor role supports continued growth within the surveying team.
The Role As the Building Surveyor, you will deliver professional and project-related services across education, office, retail, industrial and residential sectors. You will manage instructions independently while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
The role will include:
* Delivering schedules of condition and schedules of dilapidations

* Undertaking defect diagnosis and building pathology inspections

* Carrying out pre-acquisition and technical due diligence surveys

* Providing reinstatement cost assessments

* Undertaking contract administration duties

* Acting as lead consultant on multi-disciplinary instructions

* Producing clear technical reports and specifications

The Building Surveyor? You will be a client-facing and commercially aware Building Surveyor with experience delivering professional services independently. Applications from non-construction related surveying backgrounds will not be considered.
The Building Surveyor must have:
* Significant experience in a Building Surveying role across multiple sectors

* Strong technical knowledge of construction technology, building pathology and compliance

* Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently

* Experience coordinating and mentoring junior surveyors

* Full UK driving licence

* Strong IT skills including Word, Excel, AutoCAD and NBS
