Kitchen Porter
Location: Solihull
Hours: Full Time Permanent (weekends and evenings required)

Overview
We are seeking a reliable, motivated Kitchen Assistant to join the team at a well-established, independently owned hotel in Solihull. This role is essential in supporting the smooth running of the kitchen, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and assisting chefs during busy service periods.
Evening and weekend availability is required.
Key Responsibilities
*Assist chefs with basic food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients.
*Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in line with food hygiene and safety regulations.
*Load, operate, and unload the dishwasher, ensuring all cookware and utensils are cleaned promptly.
*Keep work surfaces, equipment, and storage areas sanitised throughout the shift.
*Receive and store deliveries safely, rotating stock where necessary.
*Dispose of waste correctly and maintain general kitchen cleanliness.
*Support the wider kitchen team during busy periods, including service preparation and clearing down.
Skills & Experience
*Previous experience in a kitchen or food-handling environment (preferred but not essential).
*Strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
*Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude.
*Basic understanding of food hygiene standards (Level 1 Food Hygiene certificate is an advantage).
*Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional additional hours as required.
