Accounts & Payroll Assistant

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Accounts & Payroll Assistant to join a well-established, international business operating within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. This is a varied and hands-on role ideal for someone with a blend of payroll experience and solid all-round accounts knowledge, looking to develop within a supportive finance function.
We’re looking for someone detail-driven, proactive and confident working across multiple entities within a fast-paced environment. If you enjoy variety and playing a key part in accurate financial control, this role offers an excellent platform to grow.
The Role You will support the Finance and HR teams across a broad range of activities, including:
Payroll Responsibilities *Collate, validate and upload payroll data to a third-party payroll provider
*Review payroll cycle reports to ensure accuracy
*Support payroll sign-off processes
*Act as the first point of contact for employee payroll and pension queries
*Liaise with HR and Finance as the subject matter expert for payroll matters
Accounting Responsibilities *Post bank transactions and maintain cashbook reconciliations
*Complete monthly bank, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
*Process accruals, prepayments and general ledger postings
*Support month-end close and reporting activities
*Assist with annual audit requirements
*Ensure timely and accurate entry of financial information into SAP
*Identify and support process improvements across finance
What We’re Looking For *Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting, ideally in a manufacturing or multi-entity environment
*Payroll experience is essential
*Strong knowledge of SAP FI/SD/MM modules
*Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, V-lookups)
*High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
*Ability to work to tight deadlines in a busy month-end environment
*Confident communicator able to liaise with colleagues at all levels
