Job Description:
Our client, a leading retailer with an expanding property portfolio across the UK, is seeking a hands-on Accountant to join their team and work closely with the Finance Director.
The successful candidate will be part- or fully-qualified (ACCA/CIMA) with a strong background in financial accounting and end-to-end bookkeeping experience. This is a broad, involved role offering exposure across a growing group structure and property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
*Financial accounting for a group of companies, including intercompany accounts
*Preparation of management accounts and statutory year-end accounts
*Production and maintenance of rental accounts for the property portfolio
*Intercompany reconciliations and balance resolution
*Bank, balance sheet, and control account reconciliations
*Full bookkeeping responsibilities and maintenance of accurate financial records
*Preparation and submission of VAT returns
*Management of sales and purchase ledgers
*Support the Finance Director with ad hoc finance projects and reporting
Requirements
*Part or fully qualified ACCA / CIMA
*Minimum 4+ years’ experience in a financial accounting role
*Must have worked within professional services, ideally within property / real estate or an accountancy practice
*Strong experience with statutory accounts, intercompany accounting, and bookkeeping
*Sage Line 50 experience is essential
*Strong Excel skills
*Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
