Overview

We are looking for a commercially-minded Finance Director to join a fast-growing Professional Services business.
This is a hands-on role for a proactive and commercially astute finance professional who thrives on responsibility, impact, and driving performance. You’ll take ownership of budgeting, financial reporting, and performance monitoring, while improving processes and systems.

The role will initially be a Temporary rolea with the opportuniy to develop in to a Permanent position within the first few months.

Key Responsibilities
*Own and shape the financial strategy and operating model, ensuring alignment with growth and profitability goals.
*Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts, incorporating scenario planning and sensitivity analysis.
*Strengthen cash flow oversight, enforce balance sheet discipline, and optimise working capital.
*Deliver timely, accurate management accounts and Board packs with insightful commentary and forward-looking analysis.
*Develop and maintain executive dashboards, embedding KPI governance and performance review cadence across divisions.
*Engage with and challenge budget holders, ensuring accountability for targets, costs, and investment returns.
*Enhance end-to-end finance processes, automate workflows, and optimise NetSuite configuration and reporting.
*Assess team capacity, define structure, clarify roles, and implement development plans; recruit and onboard new talent as needed.
*Oversee property-related finance, including business rates, leases, landlord relationships, and commercial negotiations.
*Lead M&A finance activities, including opportunity assessment, financial modelling, due diligence, integration planning, and post-deal monitoring.
*Maintain robust internal controls, compliance readiness, audit support, and enterprise risk management.
*Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and IT to improve data quality and elevate decision-making standards across the business.

Candidate Profile
*Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong expertise in accountancy and financial controls.
*A minimum of 7 years’ experience in finance leadership, including reporting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
*Track record of presenting to senior leadership and Boards, influencing strategic decisions.
*Hands-on experience with systems implementation and leading finance transformation initiatives.
*Strong stakeholder management skills; adept at delivering solutions in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
*Excellent analytical capabilities with a history of driving efficiency, automation, and improved financial performance.
*Commercial experience with property portfolios, including lease management and landlord negotiations, is highly desirable.
