Job Description:
Accounts Assistant - Purchase Ledger Full-time | Permanent | Edinburgh (Office-based)
Salary: £28,000-£30,000 per annum
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join a dynamic and growing finance team in Edinburgh, with a primary focus on the purchase ledger. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering stability, responsibility, and the chance to be part of a supportive finance function.
Key Responsibilities * Processing high volumes of supplier invoices and completing three-way matching against purchase orders and delivery notes
* Investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies and supplier queries
* Preparing supplier payment runs and reconciling supplier accounts
* Supporting month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, and reporting
* Maintaining accurate financial records and audit trails
* Liaising with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to resolve issues efficiently
* Assisting with finance system improvements and process enhancements
Skills & Experience Required * Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts assistant role
* Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
* Sound understanding of VAT and basic accounting principles
* Confident using accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
* Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
* Part-qualified AAT or studying towards a finance qualification (desirable)
* Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, or Business Central (advantageous)
