Job Description:
Business Development Manager (Manufacturing Industry)
Location: Norwich
Hours: Monday–Friday
Salary: £35,000–£40,000 basic
Benefits: Company car share + package discussed upon interview
Overview
*Drive new business growth across assigned territories.
*60/40 split between office-based activity and field-based client meetings.
*Focus on identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities.
*Build strong relationships to increase market presence and revenue.
Key Responsibilities
*Proactively source and secure new business through outbound activity, networking, and field visits.
*Conduct client meetings, site visits, and presentations to demonstrate products/solutions.
*Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing.
*Maintain regular communication with prospective clients to nurture the pipeline.
*Prepare quotes, proposals, and tailored solutions based on customer requirements.
*Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and delivery.
*Track all activity through CRM systems, ensuring accurate reporting.
*Represent the brand at events, exhibitions, and trade shows where required.
*Monitor market trends, competitors, and opportunities to support business growth strategy.
*You will be required for the occasional overnight stay but you will manage your own diary.
Skills & Experience
*Proven experience in business development or field sales (industry background beneficial but not essential).
*Strong pipeline management and negotiation skills.
*Confident communicator able to build rapport quickly.
*Comfortable working both independently in the field and collaboratively in the office.
*Full UK driving licence required.
