An education recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work within an ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) Base in a well-established special needs school in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed support professional who has a strong understanding of autism and is confident working in structured, specialist environments.
The Role * Supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition on a 1:1 and small-group basis
* Assisting the class teacher with tailored learning activities and differentiated tasks
* Implementing behaviour and communication strategies such as visual timetables and PECS
* Encouraging social interaction, emotional regulation and independence
* Helping to maintain a calm, predictable and supportive classroom environment
Candidate Requirements * Previous experience supporting children or young people with ASC / SEND
* School-based experience as a Teaching Assistant
* Strong behaviour management and communication skills
* Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
