Part-time Payroll Assistant
Thirsk Area
Up to £32,000 depending on experience
24 hours a week

What you’ll be doing:
*Managing the full end-to-end payroll process on a weekly and monthly basis, ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time
*Calculating overtime, deductions, bonuses, and any adjustments, ensuring all employees are paid correctly and deadlines are met consistently
*Maintaining employee records and ensuring full compliance with HMRC requirement
*Keeping payroll data up to date, monitoring legislative changes, and ensuring all statutory requirements, including PAYE, National Insurance, and RTI submissions, are met
*Processing starters, leavers, and contractual changes
*Accurately setting up new employees, managing leaver calculations including holiday and final pay, and updating payroll for promotions, pay increases, and contract amendments
*Preparing payroll reports and supporting pensions, holiday pay, and statutory payments
*Producing monthly payroll journals and reports for the finance team and management
*Administering auto-enrolment and pension contributions and handling statutory obligations such as SSP, SMP, and SPP
*Handling payroll queries and providing clear and accurate responses whilst maintaining confidentiality
What we’re looking for:
*Previous end-to-end payroll experience is essential
*Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
*Confident with payroll systems and Excel
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
*A team player who is also comfortable working independently
