Management Accountant | Skelmersdale | £45,000
A rapidly growing distribution and transport business in Skelmersdale is recruiting for a part qualified Management Accountant to support the next phase of its growth. This is a broad, operationally focused role offering real ownership of monthly reporting, strong exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence commercial decision-making in a growing SME environment.
Reporting into a Head of Finance, you will take responsibility for producing accurate, timely financial information and helping the business understand performance across its depot network. Key duties include:
*Preparing monthly management accounts, including full balance sheet reconciliations
*Producing weekly P&Ls by depot
*Margin, variance and profitability analysis
*KPI reporting and performance insight to support operational decisions
*Supporting pricing, tenders and growth initiatives
*Identifying and implementing process and control improvements as the business scales
This will suit someone who enjoys being close to the numbers and close to the operation. You will ideally have:
*CIMA/ACCA part qualified or strong QBE
*Strong Excel skills
*Experience within an SME environment (logistics/distribution/transport experience desirable but not essential)
*A proactive, practical and commercial mindset
*Confidence communicating with non-finance stakeholders
