Group Financial Accountant
Location: North Tawton with frequent travel to Cullompton.

Job Description
As a Group Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in managing financial reporting, audits, and cash flow across the group. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a fast-paced environment and contribute to strategic projects.
Key Responsibilities
*Assist in preparing the group company’s annual financial statements, including group consolidation and narrative data, using MS Word for accounts preparation.
*Oversee reconciliation and control of the balance sheet, including intercompany reconciliations.
*Prepare and input journals as required.
*Develop and maintain group cash forecasting.
*Manage working capital within the group via Confidential Invoice Discounting facilities, including monthly reconciliations and ad-hoc reporting for the bank.
*Process BACS and bank payments as required.
*Manage processes for fixed assets, asset financing, banking, insurance, and company credit cards, including direct liaison with third parties.
*Oversee the external audit process, including planning and managing annual and interim audits, handling requests, and submitting documentation.
*Provide support for indirect tax analysis and reconciliation, liaising with external tax advisors and HMRC as required.
*Support recent acquisitions and their finance teams in all financial accounting matters.
*Manage grant claims, including data collation and timely submission.
*Lead IFRS16 Leases project to assess impact on results, covering physical assets, contract hire, IT, and software contracts.
*Contribute to business contingency planning, including writing procedures and backup plans.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
*Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience.
*Strong numeric and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
*Proficiency in multiple IT platforms and reporting tools.
*Delivery-focused with ability to meet strict deadlines under pressure.
*Effective communicator with strong relationship-building skills (internal and external).
*Ability to manage and develop teams.
Desirable
*Experience of working in a financial accounting role within a medium / large company.
*Experience of change management regarding process / improvements.
