Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 (negotiable) + study support
Hours: Flexible working hours between Monday to Friday 8am-6pm
Location: Oswestry
Hawkfield Recruitment is working with a family-run dealer group with dealers across North Wales. We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support our accounts team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with accounts payable, and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes.
Responsibilities of an Accounts Assistant:
*Providing support in the day-to-day functions of the accounts department.
*Ensuring the maintenance and accuracy of accounting records and systems like clearing POAs.
*Posting daily Card and Cash Banking.
*Processing and reconciling Petty Cash.
*Posting the Bank Statements daily, including month end Bank Reconciliation.
*Run Debtors and liaise with department managers on a weekly basis to clear debts for Vehicles, Service, Parts, Rental, and Warranty.
*Raising, processing and authorising payments like refunds, cashbacks, goodwill, settlements, and vehicle purchases in line with company policy.
*Any ad hoc duties required for the department.
Skills for Accounts Assistant:
*Previous experience in a similar role in a busy, fast-paced accounting department.
*Experience in a motor trade environment with a Kerridge DMS background would be advantageous.
*PC literate, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
*Ideally, you will be enthusiastic, well organised, diligent, with excellent administrative/organisational abilities and able to work to strict deadlines whilst paying attention to detail and working both as an individual and as part of a team.
