Technical Manager – Legionella | Water Testing Laboratory
Location: Suffolk
Type: Full-time
We’re recruiting for an experienced Technical Manager with strong Legionella expertise to join a leading water testing analytical laboratory in Suffolk. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a technically demanding environment and wants to play a key part in ensuring high-quality, compliant water safety testing.
The Role
*Lead Legionella testing operations (ISO 11731) and uphold UKAS ISO/IEC 17025 standards
*Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot complex samples, and support method development
*Oversee laboratory workflow, support staff training, and drive continuous improvement
*Act as a technical point of contact for clients, offering expert interpretation of results
*Maintain compliance with ACOP L8, HSG274, and all lab health & safety procedures
About You
*Strong Legionella testing background within a UKAS-accredited lab
*Solid understanding of ISO 11731 and water microbiology
*Confident leader with the ability to mentor and develop technical staff
*Excellent communication skills and a quality-driven mindset
