Payroll Administrator
Contract: Temp to Perm
Salary: £30,000 - £34,000
Location: Stockport
StartDate: ASAP
Are you a payroll professional who values accuracy, collaboration, and a supportive working environment? A well-established organisation in Stockport is looking for a Payroll Administrator to join their friendly and experienced payroll team.
Supporting a workforce of over 2,000 employees, this role offers genuine responsibility, variety, and the chance to make a real difference across the business. The role * Processing end-to-end payroll for over 2,000 employees in line with HMRC legislation and company policies
* Managing starters, leavers, salary changes, and contractual updates in collaboration with HR
* Handling statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP and pensions auto-enrolment
* Responding to payroll queries with professionalism, discretion, and empathy
* Maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring data confidentiality
* Producing payroll reports and supporting finance and management requirements
* Assisting with year-end activities such as P60s, P11Ds, and reconciliations
* Contributing to continuous improvement of payroll processes and team best practice
What we’re looking for * Experience of end-to-end payroll in a medium to large organisation
* Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, tax, NI, statutory payments, and pensions
* Experience using payroll systems and confidence working with Excel
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* A professional, discreet approach to handling sensitive information
* A team-focused mindset and willingness to share knowledge
