Salary: £28,000 – £30,000
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off – 6:00am to 6:00pm
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Brake Bay Technician to support the company’s repair and overhaul activities within our aircraft component maintenance operation. This is a key technical role focused on the inspection, repair, overhaul, and return-to-service of aircraft wheels and brakes. The successful candidate will work within a dedicated maintenance bay, ensuring all components are serviced to regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities*Perform inspection, assessment, repair, and overhaul of aircraft wheels and brake components.
*Accurately identify parts and determine work scope using work orders and computer-based maintenance systems.
*Ensure all components are processed in accordance with company procedures, manufacturer data, and aviation regulatory requirements.
*Document all work carried out, ensuring traceability and compliance.
*Operate workshop tools and equipment safely and effectively.
*Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant working environment.
*Escalate any defects, tooling issues, or irregularities to supervisors promptly.
*Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to team performance targets.
Skills & Experience Required*Previous experience in a mechanical, component maintenance, engineering, or workshop environment
*
*High attention to detail, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and quality.
*Ability to work within a fast-paced environment and meet turnaround deadlines.
*Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable*Experience with aircraft wheels and brakes maintenance.
*Engineering or mechanical qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, apprenticeship, etc.).
