Clinical Unit Manager/Lead (RGN / RMN)


Salary: approx. £48,000-£55,000 per annum based on 36+ hours)
Hours: Full-time, permanent – average 38.5 hours per week
Shifts: Day shifts, 12-hour shifts, alternate weekends
Our client is well-established, family-run nursing home with over 35 years’ experience delivering high-quality nursing and personal care to older people. We are currently recruiting a Clinical Unit Manager (RGN or RMN) to lead a Nursing, Dementia, and Palliative Care unit.
This is a hands-on clinical leadership role, working on the floor with some supernumerary hours, offering the opportunity to lead, support, and develop a dedicated care team while maintaining excellent clinical standards.


Key Responsibilities
*Lead and supervise the care team during allocated shifts, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care
*Maintain full clinical oversight of the allocated unit, ensuring compliance with legislation, guidance, and internal policies
*Promote resident independence, dignity, and choice in all aspects of daily living
*Ensure the care, welfare, and safety of residents at all times
*Act as the senior clinical representative on site, promoting the home’s professional image
*Complete physical and psychological assessments for new admissions
*Develop, implement, and regularly review individualised nursing care plans
*Liaise with multidisciplinary teams and external healthcare professionals
*Monitor and respond to changes in residents’ physical and psychological wellbeing
*Promote positive relationships with residents, relatives, and staff
*Ensure confidentiality and accurate dissemination of resident information


Skills and Experience Required
*Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with current NMC registration
*Minimum 3 years’ post-registration nursing experience
*Previous experience as a Unit Manager or senior nurse (minimum 2 years preferred)
*Knowledge and experience in wound care
*Strong leadership and team management skills
*Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
*Experience working within nursing, dementia, and/or palliative care environments
*Good understanding of regulatory requirements within nursing homes
*Right to work in the UK
