Job Description:
Financial Accountant | £55,000 - £65,000 | Warrington
Some finance jobs are all politics and PowerPoint.
This one’s about getting the numbers right and making them useful.
Numbers matter here. Not just for compliance, but for decisions that keep the wheels turning in a manufacturing business. This role is about owning the accounting process end-to-end and making sure the figures tell the truth.
The role:
*Own the general ledger, journals, accruals, and reconciliations.
*Lead month-end and year-end close so the books balance on time.
*Review trial balances, inventory valuations, and COGS without breaking a sweat.
*Prep monthly financial statements that actually tell a story.
*Keep auditors happy and compliance tight under IFRS, UK & US GAAP.
*Spot manufacturing variances, purchase price variances, and overhead absorption - and fix them before they become a problem.
*Check standard cost updates and make sure inventory counts don’t turn into fiction.
*Handle VAT reconciliations, property tax filings, and support income tax schedules.
You’ll be on site in Warrington, in an open-plan office. Reporting line goes into a European accounting hub (Netherlands). Different lines, same team - so you’ll need to be proactive and confident, not someone who waits to be asked twice.
You:
Fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA). Sweet spot is 5 years’ PQE with a bias for technical accounting over people management. If you’re 2-5 years PQE but genuinely strong technically, still shout.
You like tidy ledgers, clean reconciliations, and month-ends that don’t spill into the next one. You’ll ask questions, cut through the noise, and get on with Ops without turning it into a drama.
Package:
*£55,000 - £65,000 DOE
*30 days annual leave + BH’s
*Various retail discounts
*A generous pension contribution
