Job Description:
Join an innovative and dynamic team within the faculty of Creative and Service Industries, focusing on the provision of Travel and Tourism. Lecturer in Travel and Tourism
*Annual Salary: Unqualified Lecturer: £33,026 - £34,460, Qualified Lecturer: £36,803 - £47,114 (Depending on experience and qualifications)
*Location: London, East
*Job Type: Full-time, 36 hours per week
Day-to-day of the role of a Travel and Tourism Lecturer :
*Design, plan, and implement effective and inclusive teaching and learning activities.
*Deliver high-quality teaching across a range of courses, using appropriate methods and technologies.
*Assess student work and progress, providing constructive feedback.
*Contribute to the delivery, tracking, and monitoring of key skill performance amongst student cohorts.
*Engage in continuous improvement by reflecting on teaching practices and incorporating feedback.
*Participate in outreach and widening participation activities.
*Act as a personal tutor, supporting students to achieve their goals.
*Conduct interviews and provide guidance to potential students.
*Assist students with their progression routes.
*Participate in Internal Quality Assurance activities and related administrative duties.
Required Skills & Qualifications for the role :
*Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PCET, PGCE, or Level 5 Diploma in Education).
*Subject specialism to at least Level 3.
*Experience delivering to learners aged 16+ of varied abilities.
*GCSE or Level 2 in Maths and English.
*Proven experience in planning and delivering lessons in line with Ofsted standards.
*Skilled in assessing, providing feedback, and meeting targets or KPIs.
*Strong written and verbal communication skills.
*Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and partnership working.
*Excellent IT and e-learning skills.
*Ability to inspire and motivate learners.
*Strong organisational, time management, and record-keeping skills.
*Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
