We are sourcing a School Finance Officer for a dynamic 6-month secondment cover across three prestigious school sites. This role offers the perfect opportunity to bring your financial expertise to a well-established education group while working in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Administer fees, deposits, scholarships, bursaries, and prizes.
*Produce invoices, manage direct debit collections, and perform reconciliations.
*Support credit control and follow up on outstanding fee cases.
*Manage transactions across budgets, the Imprest Account, Creditors, and departmental accounts.
*Administer and reconcile accounts for overseas school trips.
*Handle and process cash, cheques, and procurement cards securely.
*Assist with financial and internal audits.
*Provide financial information to Heads of Department, Senior Management Team, and parents.
*Support purchasing card processes.
*Maintain procedural guides and help develop new processes.
*Supervise finance apprentices where applicable.
*Support the implementation of policy or legislative changes.
*Respond to finance-related queries from stakeholders.
*Carry out other finance duties as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Strong transactional finance experience.
*Confidence in the P2P process.
*Prior exposure to school or education finance is ideal.
*Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
*Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with parents and staff.
*Proficiency in managing key finance functions like month-end, year-end, and GL reconciliations.
