SEMH Teaching Assistant - Full Time
Special Needs Secondary School | Eccles
Our education recruitment agency is currently seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to work full time in a specialist secondary school in Eccles.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and who thrives in a structured yet rewarding environment.
The Role: As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Support students aged 11-16 with SEMH and associated additional needs
* Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to promote positive behaviour and engagement
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support, both in and out of the classroom
* Help students develop emotional regulation, confidence and coping strategies
* Be a consistent, positive role model throughout the school day
The Ideal Candidate: * Experience working with SEMH, behaviour support, or challenging behaviour (school, PRU, care, youth work or similar)
* A calm, patient and resilient approach
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable young people
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
