Family Solicitor (Private)
Greater Manchester - Hybrid Working
Up to £50,000 + Bonus

The opportunity
An established and well-regarded law practice in the North West is looking to recruit a qualified Family Law Solicitor to strengthen its private family offering. The team is known for delivering high-quality advice with a strong emphasis on professionalism, discretion and client care.
You will be joining a supportive, experienced department that handles a broad range of privately funded family matters and takes pride in providing pragmatic, empathetic advice to clients during difficult periods.
The role
This position would suit a solicitor with approximately 2–5 years’ post-qualification experience who is confident managing a varied private family caseload with minimal supervision. The role offers autonomy over files while working within a collaborative and knowledgeable team.
Matters will include a full spectrum of private family work, such as:
*Divorce and relationship breakdown
*Financial remedy matters
*Pre- and post-nuptial agreements
*Cohabitation disputes and TLATA claims
*Private children matters
*Non-molestation and occupation orders
Key responsibilities
*Managing a personal caseload from initial instruction through to resolution
*Providing clear, accurate advice tailored to individual client needs
*Drafting correspondence, applications and court documents to a high standard
*Meeting clients, taking instructions and maintaining regular communication
*Handling sensitive matters with care, discretion and emotional intelligence
*Working to agreed timescales and service standards
*Developing effective working relationships with colleagues, referrers and external contacts
*Contributing to the continued growth and reputation of the family department
Technical and professional requirements
*Advising across all core areas of private family law
*Drafting pleadings and supporting documentation as required
*Maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, internal procedures and best practice
*Keeping up to date with developments in family law and procedure
About you
*Qualified solicitor with around 2–5 years’ PQE in private family law
*Proven experience handling privately funded matrimonial and financial matters independently
*Comfortable advising on divorce, finances, cohabitation disputes and protective injunctions
*Strong client-care skills with the ability to build trust and rapport
*Confident communicator, both verbally and in writing
*Commercially aware, with an interest in business development and networking
*Well organised, detail-focused and able to manage competing deadlines
*Familiar with case management systems and standard Microsoft applications
*Self-motivated and capable of working under pressure
