We are a group of five complementary care and education businesses serving communities across England. Our services include care homes and domiciliary care agency operating across the South East, a community transport service supporting mobility and access in the South East, and a specialist needs school based in the North West. Together we provide coordinated residential, in-home, transport and educational support for children and adults with diverse care and learning needs.
Position Overview
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will play a pivotal role in driving growth and expansion across our transport company and school. The BDM will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and enhancing our market presence. This position requires a dynamic leader with excellent communication skills and a proven track record in business development across diverse sectors.
Key Responsibilities
-Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies tailored to each sector.
-Market Research: Analyse market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients, partners, and community organizations.
- Sales Growth: Drive sales initiatives and oversee the sales process from lead generation to closing.
- Collaboration: Work closely with operational teams to ensure alignment of business development strategies with service delivery.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on business development activities and progress against targets.
- Networking: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
- Budget Management: Assist in the development of budgets and monitor expenses related to target businesses and business development activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in business development, preferably in multiple industries.
- Strong understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
