Premises Assistant Location: Secondary School, Newham
Contract: Long-term temporary, initially until July 2026

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Premises Assistant to join our site team at a busy and welcoming secondary school in Newham. This is a long-term temporary role, initially running until July 2026, offering stability and the opportunity to work in a supportive school environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the school site is safe, secure, and well maintained for students, staff, and visitors. Duties will include:
* General maintenance and minor repairs across the school site

* Opening and closing the school buildings as required

* Supporting health and safety procedures

* Setting up rooms for lessons, meetings, and events

* Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness of external areas

* Assisting with deliveries and moving equipment or furniture

* Liaising with contractors when necessary

The Ideal Candidate

* Practical, dependable, and able to work independently

* Experienced in caretaking, maintenance, or premises work (desirable)

* Committed to maintaining a safe school environment

* Flexible, with a positive and team-focused attitude

* Willing to work in a school setting and support safeguarding practices
