Assistant Director of Finance – Luxury - Central London HotelA prestigious luxury London hotel is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Finance to support the Director of Finance and lead the day-to-day financial operations of a world-class property. This is a senior leadership role within the Finance team, offering exposure to owners, management companies, and executive stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial awareness, exceptional leadership capability, and deep experience within luxury hospitality finance.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & Department Oversight*Act as deputy to the Director of Finance, taking full responsibility in their absence.
*Oversee all core finance functions including Credit, Income Audit, F&B Cost Control, Payroll, Purchasing, and Stores.
*Ensure full departmental coverage during holidays, sickness, or vacancies.
*Coordinate daily operations across the Finance team, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
Financial Control & Compliance*Ensure adherence to corporate financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
*Review and authorise Accounts Payable batches.
*Oversee credit card reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of queries.
*Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and fully understood.
*Manage local and national tax submissions, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
*Control the recording of all sales, purchases, salaries, expenses, capital expenditure, and operational statistics.
Reporting & Analysis*Support forecasting and budgeting for P&L and cashflow.
*Lead the year-end audit with external auditors.
*Assist with internal audits and ensure follow-up actions are implemented.
*Ensure timely month-end reporting to corporate stakeholders.
*Support F&B Controller with stock take processes and analysis.
Stakeholder & Guest-Facing Responsibilities*Liaise with owners and management companies on finance matters.
*Assist with guest billing, credit card queries, and travel agent commission processes.
*Maintain high service standards aligned with luxury hospitality expectations.
People Leadership & Development*Lead, train, and develop the Finance team, ensuring strong performance and engagement.
*Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs.
*Support onboarding and induction of new team members.
Other Responsibilities*Manage administrative tasks including fleet documentation, insurance updates, and PCO licensing.
*Support ad hoc financial projects as required.
*Uphold the hotel’s culture, service philosophy, and brand standards.
Skills & Experience Required*Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar senior finance role within a luxury hotel.
*Strong commercial and business acumen.
*Excellent leadership and communication skills.
*Highly analytical with strong problem-solving ability.
*Strong written communication skills, including report and policy preparation.
