Advanced Youth Offending Service Officer (Social Care Qualified)Temporary | 26 Weeks | Inside IR35
Ribble Recruitment is assisting London Borough of Redbridge with the appointment of an Advanced Youth Offending Service Officer (Social Care Qualified) to support the Youth Justice Service during a period of staff shortage.
This is a temporary opportunity for an experienced, qualified practitioner to manage a complex youth justice caseload in line with statutory requirements, national standards, and best practice.
Assignment Details*Start date: 23 February 2026
*Duration: 26 weeks
*Hours: 36 hours per week
*IR35: Inside IR35
*Location: Station Road, Ilford, Greater London (minimum 3 days per week onsite)
*Rates:
*PAYE: £26.50 per hour
*Umbrella/Ltd: £34.93 per hour
*Interview date: 11 February 2026 (onsite)
The RoleYou will manage a caseload of youth justice cases, including both out-of-court disposals and statutory court orders, in accordance with:
*National Standards for Youth Justice
*HMIP Inspection Framework
*Child First, Offender Second principles
The role focuses on delivering trauma-informed, evidence-based interventions that support children and young people to complete their disposals/orders and reduce offending and re-offending.
Key Responsibilities*Manage a caseload of youth justice cases in line with statutory and local guidance
*Undertake assessments and planning using AssetPlus, with a strong focus on trauma-informed practice, desistance, and safeguarding
*Build effective working relationships with children and young people, their families, and partner agencies
*Deliver and support individual and group-based interventions to reduce offending and disengagement from education, employment, or training
*Prepare Pre-Sentence Reports, Stand-Down Reports, and Referral Order Panel reports as required
*Represent the Youth Justice Service at Court and other statutory forums
*Present professional information and recommendations to Courts and Panels
*Promote equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practice across all aspects of work
Essential Requirements*Social Work qualification (or equivalent recognised social care qualification)
*Current experience working within Youth Justice
*Strong working knowledge of AssetPlus
*Experience preparing court and panel reports
*Ability to work confidently with complex cases and multi-agency partners
*Eligibility to work in the UK
