We’re supporting a growing, commercially focused business in Bristol with the appointment of a Senior Management Accountant to strengthen their finance function during an important phase of growth and decision-making.
This is a broad, hands-on role combining core month-end ownership with forward looking scenario and "what-if" analysis to support senior stakeholders.
The RoleYou’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day management accounting cycle while playing a key role in helping the business understand performance drivers and future outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
*Full ownership of the month-end close (P&L, balance sheet, journals, accruals, prepayments)
*Preparation and presentation of management accounts with clear commentary
*Variance analysis vs budget and forecast
*Building and maintaining scenario models to support commercial and strategic decisions
*(e.g. sensitivity analysis, cost/investment trade-offs, growth scenarios)
*Working closely with non-finance stakeholders to explain the numbers and implications
*Supporting budgeting, forecasting and continuous improvement of reporting
About You*ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
*Strong management accounting background with solid month-end experience
*Comfortable with scenario modelling and analytical thinking (not a pure modelling role)
*Commercially minded and able to translate numbers into insight
*Confident engaging with senior stakeholders
*Experience in an SME or growth-oriented environment preferred
