Job Description:
HR Director- Leeds- 3 days in the office (2 days WFH)
About the Role
We’re partnering with a growing logistics organisation to appoint a strategic, forward-thinking HR Director who will lead the people agenda and shape the company’s long-term direction. We are looking for a senior leader who has excellent leadership skills. You will sit on the senior leadership team and report directly to the MD. Your role will drive the evolution of the HR function, strengthen organisational capability, and ensure culture, talent, and people processes fully support ambitious growth plans.

This UK logistics business currently has a £400 million t/o and has 1000 employees. Hybrid working will be on offer, 3 days a week in the office.
About the role
*Partner with senior management to align HR strategy with overall business objectives.
*Lead workforce planning, skills analysis, and long-term organisational development initiatives.
*Lead succession planning, career development pathways, and internal mobility programmes.
*Ensure full compliance with employment legislation and regulatory requirements.
*Oversee policies relating to health & safety, equality, diversity & inclusion, and data protection.
*Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and retain high-quality talent.
*Implement and refine performance management frameworks.
*Support managers with goal-setting, appraisals, and continuous feedback processes.
*Drive a culture of accountability and development.
*Design and manage competitive reward, benefits, and incentive programmes.
*Conduct salary benchmarking and ensure fair, market-aligned compensation structures.
*Lead the design and delivery of training programmes to enhance skills and capability.
*Identify organisational training needs and evaluate programme effectiveness.
*Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to the HR team.
*Build a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
*Work closely with finance on budgeting and workforce planning.
*Partner with operations to support organisational change.
*Collaborate with marketing on employer branding and internal communications.
*Develop and implement environmental policies to minimise organisational impact.
*Apply structured planning tools to deliver controlled, timely change initiatives.
*Prepare and present monthly reports for senior leadership on HR performance, workforce insights, and strategic recommendations.
About you
*CIPD qualified
*Prior logistics industry knowledge
*Excellent leadership skills
*Prior experience as an HRD
