Job Description:
Join a leading visitor destination known for its unique experiences and rich heritage. My client is seeking an experienced and creative Events Manager to lead the planning and delivery of their events programme, enhancing their reputation as a vibrant, engaging, and must-visit destination.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Develop and manage a year-round events calendar that enhances visitor engagement and attracts new audiences.
*Lead end-to-end event planning, including concept creation, scheduling, logistics, risk assessments, and operational delivery.
*Coordinate theming, décor, performers, catering, AV, and technical requirements.
*Ensure events comply with health and safety standards, licensing requirements, and legal obligations.
*Work closely with internal teams (Marketing, Operations, Retail, Catering, Education) to deliver cohesive and high-quality events.
*Manage external suppliers, contractors, performers, and partners, negotiating costs and contracts where required.
*Lead and motivate seasonal and event staff teams to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
*Create event budgets, monitor expenditure, and ensure all events achieve profitability targets.
*Identify opportunities for sponsorships, partnerships, and additional revenue generation.
*Track KPIs and provide post-event reports and recommendations for improvement.
*Collaborate with Marketing to promote events and maximise attendance.
*Conduct market research to identify trends, visitor expectations, and competitor event offerings.
*Ensure events support positive guest feedback, brand reputation, and repeat visitation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in event management, ideally within a visitor attraction, hospitality, leisure, tourism, or entertainment environment.
*Strong organisational and project management skills.
*Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
*Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
*Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
*Experience managing budgets and delivering commercially successful events.
*Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and peak seasonal periods.
*Desirable: Experience in the tourism or heritage sector, knowledge of health & safety, risk assessments, and event licensing, creative flair for event theming and design, First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.
