Job Description:
Our client is a well respected and funded business operating within the Construction and House Building Industry.
As part of the company’s ongoing success and expansion into the East of England, Nenebrook have been engaged to assist with the recruitment of Qualified Accountant to join the business as either Senior Finance Manager or Head of Finance.
This position is being recruited to initially have mentorship by a highly experienced Finance Director however with a clear path over the next 12 months to move into a Finance Director position and take ownership of your own newly created region.
Overview
*Assist the Finance Director with the day-to-day leadership of the finance team adhering to Group reporting deadlines
*Oversight of the month end process for the region (c.£150m annual turnover), including but not limited to;
*Monthly WIP recoverability review which involves constructively working with the commercial department in identifying how and when WIP will be recovered
*Responsible for reviewing journals and balance sheet reconciliations produced by 2 direct reports
*Review of monthly management accounts, including commentary on monthly and YTD performance versus budget
*Preparation/review of stat packs/supporting schedules at year end for reporting into group
*Undertaking frequent margin analysis against budget and forecast whilst also identifying risks/opportunities and communicating these to FD/MD
*Ownership of fortnightly cashflow reporting due to group with a focus on WIP control by looking at sales/build forecast
*Providing the FD/MD with analysis/insight into how cash targets can be met through effective cash management
*Experience of stepping in for FD on monthly actuals/forecast meeting with MD, CFO
*Attendance at monthly cost review meetings
*Key driver in preparation of annual budget and strategic plan (3-year outlook)
*Day to day coaching of 2 direct reports whilst actively driving their development
*Carrying out dual role by being JV accountant for the region which involves monthly maintenance of financial forecast model and issuing this/liaising with external JV partner
*Oversight of the audit process whilst being the key point of contact for external auditors
The ideal candidate for this position
*ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualified with 3-5+ Years PQE
*Prior experience gained within House Building, Construction or project centric industry
*Experience operating at Finance Manager , Head of Finance or FD Designate Level
*Strong business partnering abilities and ability to communicate effectively to a wide audience of finance and non finance professionals
*Hunger and aspiration to work towards a Finance Director / No 1 in Finance Position over the next 12-24 months
In return this role promises to be both rewarding and progressive with candidates having the scope to take ownership of their own business unit. Initially with support from a experience Finance Director but gaining full ownership over the next 12-24 months.
A competitive basic salary of up to £80,000 + Car Allowance and Sizable Bonus give a generous starting package coupled with excellent scope for improvement as you step into the Finance Director Positions.
