Job Description:
We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Ilford who are looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to children who require tailored support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team to deliver targeted interventions and provide one to one or small group support as required.
Key Responsibilities
• Supporting pupils with SEN including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or SEMH
• Providing one to one and small group support in and out of the classroom
• Assisting with the implementation of EHCP targets and support plans
• Supporting emotional regulation, engagement, and positive behaviour
• Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
• Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
• Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for inclusive education
• Willingness to learn and adapt to individual pupil needs
