Pastoral Lead – Reading

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the school’s culture, providing guidance, and working closely with students, families, and staff to ensure a positive, supportive environment for all.
Key Responsibilities:
*Leading on pastoral care across the school
*Supporting wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, and student engagement
*Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and families
*Working collaboratively with teaching and support staff to meet individual needs
*Implementing effective pastoral strategies and interventions
*Supporting safeguarding processes in line with school policy
*Managing behaviour incidents and delivering restorative support
*Contributing to an inclusive and nurturing whole-school ethos
What They Are Looking For:
*Experience in a pastoral, behaviour, safeguarding, or student-support role
*Strong communication skills, empathy, and emotional resilience
*Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism
*Experience working with young people in an educational setting
*Knowledge of behaviour management approaches and pastoral intervention strategies
*A proactive, organised, and collaborative professional
