Job Description:
Total Assist Recruitment are looking for a Band 5 or 6 Locum Occupational Therapist – Mental Health Inpatient Service (Hertfordshire)
We are seeking a Locum Occupational Therapist to support the multidisciplinary team within a mental health inpatient service in Hertfordshire. The role involves assessing, planning, and delivering person-centred occupational therapy interventions for individuals with mental health needs, supporting recovery, functional independence, and wellbeing. You will contribute to care planning, risk assessment, and the delivery of group and 1:1 interventions, as well as discharge planning, working closely with nursing, medical, and therapy colleagues.
Ideal Candidate:
• Experience working with children and young people aged 8–18 years
• HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist
• Proven experience in mental health settings (inpatient preferred)
• Strong communication, assessment, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently in a locum capacity and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Additional Details:
• Band 5 or 6 (Band 7 applicants also considered)
• ASAP start
• Ongoing contract
• Full-time hours, on site, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
