Job Description:
Paint Sprayer / Mechanical Assembler
Contract Type: Temporary (with potential for permanent)
Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
Working Hours:
* Monday & Tuesday: 6:00 am - 3:45 pm

* Wednesday & Thursday: 6:00 am - 4:00 pm

Our client is seeking an experienced Paint Sprayer / Mechanical Assembler to join their growing manufacturing team. This hands-on role involves working on high-quality mechanical components, combining skilled spray painting with mechanical assembly.
Key Responsibilities Paint Spraying:
* Prepare, prime, and spray components to high-quality standards.

* Mix paints accurately and perform thickness and adhesion checks.

* Maintain spray equipment and ensure a clean, safe workspace.

Mechanical Assembly:
* Assemble and test valves, switches, alternators, and control units.

* Read and follow assembly drawings and Bills of Materials.

* Select correct materials and inspect work for defects.

* Support continuous improvement initiatives, 5S, and TPM activities.

Requirements * Minimum 2 years’ spray painting experience in manufacturing or industrial environments (automotive/metal coatings beneficial).

* Skilled in surface preparation, paint application, and quality checks.

* Able to follow technical documents and standard operating procedures.

* Strong attention to detail with a proactive, team-focused approach.

* Comfortable using PPE, handling hazardous materials, and working in a busy production environment.

* Good general education; technical training or relevant certifications (SSPC/NACE) are a bonus.

Physical Requirements * Able to stand for long periods, lift up to 13.6kg, and work with air-fed masks.
