Role Highlights*Title: Design Engineer
*Location: Harlow, Essex (on-site, with free parking)
*Reporting to: Engineering Director
*Focus: Full lifecycle product design – from concept, prototyping, and testing through to release and post-launch updates
What You’ll Be Doing*Designing products using SolidWorks and Creo CAD tools
*Developing design and test specifications for new lighting systems
*Creating conceptual designs and producing costing data
*Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors for external engineering work
*Managing prototype builds and validation testing (electrical & mechanical)
*Driving compliance testing and documentation for CE/UKCA technical files
*Working closely with internal test labs and project managers
*Supporting the analysis and improvement of existing designs
What We’re Looking For*Experience in product or lighting design (automotive a plus)
*Proficient in SolidWorks (3D modelling/surfacing) and Creo
*HNC/HND/Degree in engineering or product design
*Track record of independently managing design projects
*Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing technologies
*Bonus points for experience with optical design tools, Relux, or DIALux
*Highly detail-oriented, conscientious, and organized
*Collaborative team player with a flexible, can-do approach
