This role is ideal for a tutor who understands the importance of relationship-building, emotional safety, and flexible learning, and who is confident supporting a learner who is not currently accessing a mainstream school setting.
The Role
*Provide 1:1 tuition in a low-pressure, student-led environment
*Prioritise building trust and confidence before introducing academic learning
*Support gradual re-engagement with education
*Adapt learning to suit the individual’s pace, interests, and emotional needs
*Introduce academic content sensitively once the learner is ready
*Encourage motivation and positive attitudes towards future learning and qualifications
Essential Requirements
*Minimum of 6 months’ experience working within a UK based educational setting
*Ability to build positive relationships with young people
*Patient, flexible, and emotionally aware approach
*Confidence working 1:1 and adapting sessions as needed
Desirable Experience
*Experience supporting pupils with EBSA
*Experience working with SEN, including anxiety-related needs
*Background in alternative provision, home tutoring, or pastoral support
