Job Description:
My client is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Finance Director to join a leading logistics group. This is a critical leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO and acting as a key business partner within the senior leadership team. This opportunity will suit a senior finance leader with a strong track record of business turnaround, value creation and growth in complex, operationally focused environments.
As Finance Director, you will have full responsibility for the financial leadership of the business, overseeing all financial aspects and supporting the return to sustainable profitability and growth. You will lead a well-established UK-based finance team and play a central role in shaping strategy, improving performance, and strengthening financial discipline across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead all financial reporting, delivering timely, accurate monthly accounts
* Work as part of the leadership team to devise and execute strategy aim at driving business performance
* Provide strong business partnering to operational and commercial leaders, challenging costs, identifying savings and delivering EBIT targets
* Own the budgeting, forecasting and performance management processes, tracking results against KPIs
* Drive effective working capital and treasury management, maximising liquidity and controlling cost of funds
* Lead and develop a high-performing finance team across AP, AR, Management Accounting, Treasury, Payroll and Business Partnering
* Maintain ownership of financial controls, audits, tax filings and regulatory compliance
* Manage and complete audits within group reporting timelines
* Work closely with modelling teams to evaluate business scenarios and investments
* Build strong relationships across the business, group leadership and PE shareholders
* Act as a visible role model, driving a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement
About You
You will be a senior finance professional with:
* Strong sector knowledge of transportation and contract logistics
* Proven experience delivering both business turnaround and strategic growth
* Experience working in a Private Equity-owned business, including managing PE stakeholders will be highly desired
* Excellent analytical and performance management capabilities
* Strong process and change management skills across multi-functional teams
* Demonstrated expertise in working capital management
* Knowledge of asset finance and fleet reporting
* A collaborative leadership style with proven people management experience
* A hands-on, commercial mindset with the credibility to influence at executive level
