Job Description:
Our client is a well respected national business operating within the construction industry with a UK wide presence.
As a result of continued expansion, Nenebrook Search have been engaged to assist with the recruitment of an accomplished and forward-thinking Finance Director to join leadership team of the business unit based in South Wales
The successful candidate will provide strategic financial direction, ensure robust financial governance, and play a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth and profitability within the residential construction sector.
Key Responsibilities*Lead the finance function, overseeing financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and compliance activities for the Group.
*Collaborate with Regional Managing Director, Commercial Director, Construction and Land Director with regular contact with Divisional & Group Finance Teams.
*Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s long-term objectives, supporting business growth and efficiency.
*Provide clear and insightful financial analysis to the Board and Executive Committee, supporting strategic decision-making and risk management.
*Manage relationships with investors, analysts, auditors, and regulators, ensuring transparent and timely communication.
*Oversee cash flow management, capital allocation, and funding strategies, maintaining a strong balance sheet and optimal capital structure.
*Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, controls, and systems across the organisation.
*Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Person Specification*Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience.
*Proven track record as a Finance Director or in a senior finance leadership role within a listed company environment, ideally in property development, construction, or project related sector.
*Demonstrable experience in managing investor relations and external stakeholders.
*Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at Board level.
*Strategic thinker with strong analytical and commercial acumen.
*Experience of leading finance teams through periods of growth, transformation, or change.
*High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.
