Fabricator / Welder / Sheet Metal Engineer
Basildon (must drive due to location)
£35,000 + DOE + excellent benefits
Mon–Fri | 8:00am–4:30pm

Are you a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator/Welder looking to take the next step in your career?
Our client is a long-established, highly respected engineering and fabrication business known for producing premium, bespoke stainless-steel solutions for the commercial kitchen, catering and industrial sectors.
Thanks to continued growth, they’re expanding their workshop team and are looking for an experienced, hands-on Fabricator/Welder who takes real pride in their craft.
What You’ll Be Doing
Working on a wide range of high-quality stainless-steel and mild-steel products — from sinks and benches to cupboards and bespoke fabrications — you’ll play a key part in producing first-class engineered solutions.
Fabrication & Welding
Fabricate, assemble and repair a variety of sheet metal components
Complete MIG & TIG welding to a consistently high standard
Use workshop machinery including press brakes, guillotines, rollers, grinders, and more
Technical Work
Work confidently from engineering drawings and cutting lists
Mark out, measure and cut materials with precision
Select the correct materials, gauges and finishing techniques for each project
Produce polished, professional finishes on stainless-steel items
Quality & Safety
Ensure accuracy and exceptional finish on all completed work
Maintain excellent workshop standards
Follow all Health & Safety and quality assurance procedures
Site Work (Occasional)
Attend client sites for surveys, measurements and installations
Work alongside the sales and contracts teams as needed
Install, modify or repair fabricated items on site
About You
Proven experience as a Fabricator, Welder, or Sheet Metal Worker
Strong MIG & TIG welding skills (mild & stainless steel)
Confidence reading and interpreting technical drawings
Good understanding of fabrication tools & CNC machinery
A proactive, reliable and quality-focused work style
Flexibility for occasional site work and overtime
