Job Description:
MRD Recruitment is currently recruiting a Senior Buyer for one of our manufacturing clients based in Falkirk.
The Role
As Senior Buyer, you will take ownership of purchasing activities across a defined spend category, working closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure continuity of supply, cost control, and commercial excellence.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage end-to-end procurement activities within a manufacturing environment
*Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with key suppliers
*Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and performance metrics
*Support production planning through effective material availability and risk management
*Drive cost reduction and value improvement initiatives
*Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams on changes and new projects
*Monitor market trends and supply chain risks
*Ensure compliance with internal purchasing procedures
Candidate Profile
*Proven experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer within manufacturing / industrial sectors
*Strong commercial and negotiation skills
*Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
*Ability to interpret technical drawings and BOMs
*Confident stakeholder management and communication skills
*CIPS qualification or working towards is advantageous
