Job Description:
Client Advisor – Design Gallery (Edinburgh)
Full-time | Tuesday–Saturday | £25,000–£35,000 + bonus
Location: Edinburgh
A rare opportunity to join a fast-evolving Scottish design brand at a pivotal moment in its journey.
Our client’s Edinburgh showroom is transforming into a fully reimagined Design Gallery — a space where collectible furniture, contemporary art, lighting and curated homeware come together in a refined, gallery-style environment. They partner with high-net-worth private clients, interior designers and hospitality groups who value craftsmanship, soul, and beautifully made pieces that stand the test of time.
Reed have partnered with the client to look looking for a warm, polished and commercially minded Client Advisor to deliver a world-class client experience and help shape the future of our gallery.
The Role
As a Client Advisor, you’ll be the face of their newly rebranded Design Gallery — welcoming clients, building long-term relationships, and guiding them through thoughtful, considered purchases.
This is not fast retail; it’s high-touch, consultative, and deeply relationship-driven.
You’ll also play a hands-on role in the daily running of the space, working closely with the Gallery Manager and wider retail team.
Key Responsibilities
Client Experience & Sales
*Deliver a warm, informed and highly personalised experience for HNWI clients, designers and trade partners.
*Develop expert product knowledge across furniture, art, materials, finishes and craftsmanship.
*Lead private appointments, gallery tours and client consultations — including occasional home visits.
*Prepare quotes, proposals and tailored sales materials.
*Identify sales opportunities, nurture long-term client relationships and meet team-wide revenue targets.
*Maintain accurate CRM notes and follow-up schedules.
Gallery Operations
*Open and close the gallery, maintaining immaculate presentation and visual standards.
*Support installation, de-installation, stock movement and presentation of new pieces.
*Assist with merchandising, plinth displays and homeware replenishment.
*Help manage stock systems, POS processes and packaging.
Coordination & Administration
*Prepare order confirmations, delivery documentation and supplier communications.
*Work with logistics partners to schedule deliveries, installations and client timelines.
*Support marketing and content creation where required.
*Assist with private viewings, events and launches.
Brand Ambassadorship
*Represent the gallery and its design ethos with confidence and authenticity.
*Build lasting relationships within the local design and luxury community.
*Act as a thoughtful, knowledgeable front-of-house presence for all visitors.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
*Experience in luxury retail, a design showroom, gallery sales or a client advisory role.
*A genuine love of design, furniture and contemporary art.
*Comfortable using CRM tools, stock systems and Excel.
Desirable
*Background in a design gallery, art gallery or high-end furniture environment.
*Understanding of materials, finishes, production processes or fine art terminology.
*Familiarity with interior design workflows.
*An ability to support visual merchandising.
If you’re passionate about design and thrive in elegant, detail-driven spaces — we’d love to hear from you.
