Reed is recruiting on behalf of a Medical Practice in Bradford, our client is looking for a receptionist to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a warm welcome and ensuring efficient access to healthcare services.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Greet and assist patients in person, over the phone, and via electronic communication
*Book, amend, and cancel appointments using clinical systems such as SystmOne
*Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including scanning and forwarding clinical documents
*Process prescription requests and liaise with the clinical team regarding medication queries
*Handle patient registration, including new and temporary residents
*Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding protocols
*Support clinicians with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and data entry
*Ensure the reception area is tidy, welcoming, and compliant with health and safety standards
*Assist with arranging patient transport and home visits when required
*Participate in team meetings and training sessions to support continuous improvement
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Strong IT skills and familiarity with clinical systems
*Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
*High level of accuracy and attention to detail
*Professional and compassionate approach to patient care
*Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting is desirable
*Knowledge of NHS procedures and safeguarding policies is advantageous
*Flexibility to cover shifts during staff absences is preferred
