Job Description:
The Complex Disease Lawyer will handle own caseload of mixed diseases & complex cases within our Legacy department to manage and progress claims in accordance with appropriate strategies to secure desired outcomes at appropriate levels of profitability.
Key Responsibilities
*Overall conduct of allocated matters fixing strategy and liaising directly with clients.
*Responsibility for Assistants & their development.
*Ensure adherence with court timetables by taking relevant actions/delegation of tasks as appropriate.
*Ensuring experts are instructed in sufficient time by taking relevant actions/delegation of tasks as appropriate.
*Attending conferences with Counsel and clients
*Dealing with routine correspondence
*Compliance with MI
*To ensure compliance with the SRA Standards & Regulations.
*Adhere to the Keoghs Values.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
*Technically proficient in dealing with a mixed disease caseload including long tail disease and short tail disease.
*Experience of dealing with the Claims Portal as well as Fast, Intermediate and Multi Track litigation including cases in the High Court.
*Effective negotiator.
*Ability to use own initiative.
*Good listening and verbal communication skills
*Ability to organise, delegate & prioritise
*Good level of IT skills.
