Vivid Healthcare are currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join a busy inpatient team in Birmingham, supporting the assessment and discharge planning of complex and frail adults.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an OT with strong acute experience to contribute to a supportive service focused on safe and effective patient discharge.
Role OverviewThe successful candidate will provide high-quality occupational therapy assessment and treatment, with a strong focus on discharge planning for complex and frail adult patients. The role is primarily based at one inpatient site in Birmingham, with occasional cross-site cover required as part of the post.
Key Responsibilities*Assessment and treatment of complex adult inpatients
*Comprehensive discharge planning and coordination
*Undertaking access visits within the community
*Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
*Managing a varied inpatient caseload
Requirements*HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
*Previous experience working in inpatient hospital settings
*Proven experience in discharge planning
*Car driver essential for access visits
*Experience using RIO patient record system desirable
*Strong communication and teamwork skills
Contract Details*Location: Birmingham
*Start Date: ASAP
*Duration: Up to 8 weeks, with potential extension
*Hours: 08:00 – 16:00, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)
*Working Pattern: Full-time preferred; part-time considered
